Mobile has become our fastest growing platform in just a few short years after we first premiered ROBLOX on iOS and Android phones and tablets. Millions of ROBLOXians have logged countless hours tapping into their favorite games and experiences on-the-go. Millions more are joining them today – so much so that mobile devices are becoming an increasingly lucrative platform for all developers. We thought we should break down the stats and take a close look at some of the explosive numbers that summed up the past year and a half on ROBLOX Mobile. Mobile downloads are skyrocketing
Many users are taking quite an interest in ROBLOX on mobile, especially in 2016. Who wouldn’t want to jump into the multiplayer frenzy of Natural Disaster Survival or hang out with friends in ROBLOX High School while sitting on the bus or waiting for an appointment? For the month of May 2016, we recorded 850,000 downloads on iOS and 1.6 million downloadson Android. Both of these stats more than quadrupled on a year-over-year basis.
Time keeps on ticking
Many users are taking quite an interest in ROBLOX on mobile, especially in 2016. Who wouldn’t want to jump into the multiplayer frenzy of Natural Disaster Survival or hang out with friends in ROBLOX High School while sitting on the bus or waiting for an appointment? ROBLOX users are spending more and more time on mobile every month. Between January 1, 2015 and May 1, 2016, we hit an average of 10 million hours played per month on iOS and an average of 6 million hours played per month on Android.
More specifically, over 22 million hours of gameplay were recorded on iOS devices in May 2016, which tripled the amount of time spent last year during the same month. Meanwhile, Android devices saw the biggest increase in hours played on May 1, 2016. On a year-over-year basis, the number of hours played quintupled to 18 million hours on Android. That’s enough ROBLOX to last an entire lifetime!
